Paradigm Shift

CCA Industrial Design Class 2020

These students are our first to graduate into this new reality of change, social distance, and uncertainty. This global situation had forced a shift in perspective for each of us.  It has impacted our lives, changed our habits, and forced us to view our world in new ways.

Students spend their academic careers in a state of constant uncertainty.  They are immersed in new perspectives and perpetually exposed to new possibilities, responding to the challenges of our current and future world.  These are the skills of our new reality.

As they embark on this next step in their careers, they do so being reminded of their decisions to become designers, to be creators, and to be agents of change.

The future is never certain, never defined, and the solutions will not be found in the status quo.  I’m optimistic for our collective future, and confident that these designers will carve their path as part of new solutions; helping shape our futures and shift our perspective for the better.
